Here is a low energy, high chill, r & b, indie, hip hop mashup. I heard the Mansions on the Moon new EP and I knew that I needed to mess around with their music. I love the sounds that are coming this band. So I took their song “Athens” screwed way down to create a nice ambient tune. After adding some vocals from INOJ, J. Cole, and Coldplay the track started to come together quite nicely. Phantogram and Kal Ho Naa Ho add some nice drums to give the track the beat to carry it through.

Here is a nice, slow, r & b, indie, hip hop mashup. There are some very nice smooth vibes on this track. I heard the RAC remix of Washed out and knew that I had to do something with it. So instead of speeding it up making it all dancey and stuff, I decided to screw it way down in pitch and tempo. This created a nice ambient feel to the instrumental. Check it out below….

I’ve been sitting on this Kavinsky song ever since I heard it in Drive a few months ago, but could not find the right acapella to go with it. Thanks to Childish Gambino I was able to find the perfect fit. It has some similar tones to my recent Drake mashup, that sort-of slowed down electronic feel.

So It has been a long while (something like 10 months) since I’ve released anything uptempo, and I thought it was time to finally break that streak. So here is a nice little pop,electro mashup featuring Maroon 5 and Dubvision. You may not have heard of Dubvision but they are releasing some smashing house tracks that incredible. Maroon 5, while they may not be my favorite band, this song is incredibly catchy and the Dubvision behind it will make this a dancefloor smash.

Ladies and Gentleman, it has been a little while since I have come out with anything new but have now fear I have been putting in work on my next mixtape title “English Babes and American Blokes.” The premises behind this is to highlight some of my favorite American rappers who have either sampled, remixed, or covered songs from Babes of the UK. This is not going to be a traditional DJFF mixtape in that not all of the songs are mashups. Many are remixes by myself and other DJs, also you may hear some songs that you already recognize. Props to Portland Artists Maximum Damage for the Album Art.

The first song from the mixtape is a remix done by DJ Fergie Ferg. It samples Kate Nash - Merry Happy and Busta Rhymes - Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See. I added some other instruments included synth, bass, and drums to give the mashup a little more of my own flavor. Hope you Enjoy.

GMC, short for Global Mashup Crew, has allowed me to exclusively release their second collaborative effort, a Mashup Tribute to Eminem. This group of nine mashup artists has come together to create a sonic storyline of Eminem’s career as one of the most talented emcees hip hop has ever seen. They’ve included four skits between songs that reflect Eminem’s placement in the industry at that time.

Skit 1: “Intro” (1999). Eminem was becoming huge. He’s a mix of aggressive, funny, and crazy.

Skit 2: “A Beautiful Thing” (2002). Release of “The Eminem Show.” Eminem is on top of the world. He shows a bit of his soft side when talking about his daughter.

Skit 3: “The Karaoke Guy” (2005). Release of “Curtain Call.” The skit reflects the album itself: scattered with random, funny stories.

Skit 4: “The Clarity” (2010). Eminem returns with “Recovery.” We’ve heard enough about Eminem’s struggle with drugs, so this isn’t about that.

Here it is!!! This track features a lot of my own production, rather than a straight AvB Mashup. This songs samples Wiz Khalifa and Ellie Goulding. I am excited for this as it was much more challenging to make and required me to use many of the skills that I have been developing throughout my musical life. You may also notice the similar themes in lyrical content between the part of the Ellie song that I chopped and the Wiz Khalifa song, which is why I felt these two songs fit particularly well together.

Pre-Game Thursday!!! Alright I got a new track for you today my peoples! This is a nice and fun dance track. Its got Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Amanda Blank, and Oliver all joining together to give a nice Disco track to swing your hips to! Also included in this post is a bonus track that I did for Sunset In The Rearview’s “Welcome Back Weezy Mixtape.” Make sure you download the entire mixtape it is awesome, it feels really cool to be on the same project as some of the most recognizable mashers out there. My track combines Lil Wayne with a song from the recently released Daft Punk score to the Tron movie. I also want to say thank you to all of the blogs who posted last weeks track. It even made it all the way to number 3 on the Hype Machine charts, and has received over 33,000 plays on soundcloud!
